COVID-19 Patients & Visitors

What we are doing at JHAH

Aligned with the Ministry of Health and World Health Organization directives, JHAH is taking proactive steps to prevent and limit COVID-19 and to ensure operational readiness and maintain flexibility should circumstances evolve in response to COVID-19.

Infection Prevention Entrance Screening

Infection Prevention Entrance Screening is now in effect. All patients, family members and JHAH staff entering JHAH will be screened by nurses. This consists of applying hand sanitizer, wearing a mask, answering questions related to travel history, and being assessed for symptoms, including cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose and getting checked for high temperature using an infra-red non-contact thermometer.

Impact of COVID-19 on JHAH services

Key information for patients and visitors

COVID-19 testing is critical to measure the spread of infection, treat those who are infected, and enable support measures that limit the disease from spreading.

Understand how and where we test for COVID-19 at JHAH, who to contact about testing, how to prepare for a COVID-19 test, information about test results, and what to do if someone tests positive.

COVID-19 testing at JHAH

JHAH has opened a Fever Clinic as part of JHAH’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Fever Clinic enables clinical assessment, COVID-19 testing, and case management in the safest possible environment of care. Visual triage is conducted for all people entering the Fever Clinic.

Who should go to the Fever Clinic?

JHAH-registered patients who are experiencing fever or respiratory symptoms such as cough, runny nose, shortness of breath, or sore throat.

All non-COVID-19 related Walk-in Care cases will be re-directed to a separate entrance and treatment area in the Primary Care building (Suite 6). This minimizes the risk of contact exposure for patients, staff, and visitors.

Location of the Fever Clinic

The Fever Clinic is located inside the JHAH Dhahran Walk-in Care Clinic. It works in coordination with the adjacently located Drive-through Screening Station and has immediate access to diagnostics such as radiology, electrocardiogram (EKG), and laboratory services.

JHAH has put in effect temporary special measures to make sure that our patients continue to be cared for in a safe environment.
