Dr. Christopher Oakley is the Director of Johns Hopkins Pediatric Headache Center and pediatric neurologist, specializes in pediatric headaches, vertigo and head pain. As Assistant Professor of Neurology, Dr. Oakley sees patients with a variety of general pediatric neurological issues, but he focuses his clinical efforts primarily on the treatment of pediatric and adolescent headaches. He lectures frequently to the general public and healthcare providers on a multitude of pediatric neurology topics but focuses on migraine and other childhood headaches, as this is his primary clinical focus.

In 1998, Dr. Moliterno was awarded a prestigious Doris Duke Clinical Scientist Award and joined the Johns Hopkins faculty, and since then has directed numerous basic and translational projects in blood diseases. Dr. Moliterno maintains an active clinical and hospital consultation practice focused on the diagnosis and management of blood disorders.

At JHAH’s Blood Disorders Center, we treat a variety of complex blood disorders and cancers, including sickle cell, chronic anemia, leukemia and thalassemia. Treatments may include blood product transfusions, iron infusions, injections and autologous bone marrow stem cell transplants.

Dr. Duncan is a gastrointestinal surgical oncologist who specializes in surgery for cancers of the stomach, intestine, colon and rectum, pancreas, and sarcoma.  He has been at Johns Hopkins for 22 years. His clinical focus is on gastric cancer and hereditary gastric cancer. Dr. Duncan is the clinical leader of the Johns Hopkins Gastric Cancer Program. His research examines gastroesophageal cancer tumorigenesis and molecular changes in gastric cancer.

Dr. Jun specializes in corneal disorders - including Fuchs dystrophy and keratoconus - refractive surgery (LASIK), cataracts and external eye diseases. Dr. Jun's clinical and research interests include endothelial keratoplasty, refractive surgery, granular corneal dystrophy, genetic analysis of corneal diseases and corneal gene therapy.

Doctor Jun spoke on Cataract Surgery and Laser Vision Correction at a JHAH community outreach lecture  Monday, April 29, 2019.

Dr. Black joined the surgical faculty of the Johns Hopkins Hospital in 2004. He completed his General Vascular Surgery Fellowship in the Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at the Massachusetts General Hospital and received his General Surgery Training in the Halsted General Surgery Training Program at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. In addition to his interest with open surgical reconstruction of carotid, extremity and complex aortic disease, he aggressively pursues the application of minimally invasive endovascular technologies for patients with aortic aneurysms and aortic dissection, occlusive disease of the carotid, renal, mesenteric, and lower extremity arteries. His research interests include the cellular and molecular events underpinning the development of aortic catastrophe in both atherosclerotic and connective tissue disorders, as well as diagnosis of aortic dissection and malperfusion syndromes.

Johns Hopkins Medicine gastrointestinal surgical oncology expert, Dr. Mark D. Duncan, was on-site at JHAH from July 14 to 18, 2019.

Dr. Duncan is a gastrointestinal surgical oncologist who specializes in surgery for cancers of the stomach, intestine, colon and rectum, pancreas, and sarcoma.  He has been at Johns Hopkins for 22 years. His clinical focus is on gastric cancer and hereditary gastric cancer. Dr. Duncan is the clinical leader of the Johns Hopkins Gastric Cancer Program. His research examines gastroesophageal cancer tumorigenesis and molecular changes in gastric cancer.

Chief, Division of Cornea, Cataract and External Eye Diseases Professor of Ophthalmology

Johns Hopkins Medicine ophthalmology expert, Dr. Albert Jun, joined the JHAH Ophthalmology department on academic rotation from April 28 to 30, 2019.

Dr. Jun specializes in corneal disorders - including Fuchs dystrophy and keratoconus - refractive surgery (LASIK), cataracts and external eye diseases. Dr. Jun's clinical and research interests include endothelial keratoplasty, refractive surgery, granular corneal dystrophy, genetic analysis of corneal diseases and corneal gene therapy.

Doctor Jun spoke on Cataract Surgery and Laser Vision Correction at a JHAH community outreach lecture  Monday, April 29, 2019.

Johns Hopkins Medicine diagnostic radiology expert, Dr. Atif Zaheer, was on-site at JHAH from April 13 to 28, 2019.

Dr. Zaheer is clinically active in cross-sectional imaging of the body using CT, MRI and ultrasound and is also involved in multidisciplinary conferences for liver, rectal cancer, pancreas and prostate imaging. His research interests include imaging of tumors and inflammatory disorders of the pancreas. He has contributed to clinical trials, publications and presentations.

JHAH’s Radiology team provides a comprehensive range of medical imaging services that include: diagnostic radiography, mammography, bone densitometry, nuclear medicine, computed tomography (CT), ultrasound, interventional procedures, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

Johns Hopkins Medicine Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy expert,  Dr. James Hamilton Black joined the JHAH Vascular Surgery Program on surgical rotation from April 2 to 4, 2019.

Dr. Black joined the surgical faculty of the Johns Hopkins Hospital in 2004. He completed his General Vascular Surgery Fellowship in the Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at the Massachusetts General Hospital and received his General Surgery Training in the Halsted General Surgery Training Program at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. In addition to his interest with open surgical reconstruction of carotid, extremity and complex aortic disease, he aggressively pursues the application of minimally invasive endovascular technologies for patients with aortic aneurysms and aortic dissection, occlusive disease of the carotid, renal, mesenteric, and lower extremity arteries. His research interests include the cellular and molecular events underpinning the development of aortic catastrophe in both atherosclerotic and connective tissue disorders, as well as diagnosis of aortic dissection and malperfusion syndromes.

Our surgeons at Johns Hopkins Aramaco Healthcare (JHAH) treat a number of artery and vein diseases, from aneurysm or dissection of the aorta, to the narrowing or occlusion of vessels such as the carotid or the lower-extremity arteries. We also provide diabetic foot care, limb-salvage procedures, and consultations if you are suffering from renal failure and are in need of hemodialysis.

Bariatric Surgery

Johns Hopkins Medicine Bariatric Surgery expert, Dr. Hien Nguyen, joined the JHAH Bariatric Surgery Program on surgical rotation from March 3 to 14, 2019 and September 15 to 24, 2019.

Dr. Nguyen is an expert in single-incision surgery, robotic surgery and laparoscopic bariatric surgery (which includes Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, adjustable gastric bands, sleeve gastrectomy and duodenal switch). He was instrumental in helping to establish the single-incision approach for laparoscopic surgery at The Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions.

The JHAH Bariatric Surgery Program has an excellent long-term success rate. The program achieves consistently high quality outcomes and delivers comprehensive follow up care to help patients sustain a healthier lifestyle.
